Good News story - Joshua Hancock gains TA position at Waldo Williams

on Wednesday, 10 December 2025. Posted in News

Joshua started with us on Jobs Growth Wales+ in October because he is a keen footballer, a coach of his local u11 team and wants to become an LSA.  He has already applied for LSA roles but has not yet been successful.  He hoped that our specialism in these roles would enable him to get employment in a school.  He gained 10 GCSEs, including English, maths and IT.

As soon as Josh enrolled, AMT arranged for a placement in a local school.  But before it was due to commence Joshua was successful in gaining an STLS Level 2 Apprenticeship at Waldo Williams primary school in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.

He will begin working in the school on a JGW+ placement in December and then start his Apprenticeship officially in January.
